Nous gérons de façon responsable les partenariats, le personnel et les ressources afin de renforcer notre impact et de bâtir un avenir durable pour la médecine universitaire.
AFMC’s work is strengthened by a diverse network of more than 100 collaborators across Canada and internationally, including learner groups, government agencies, research funders, health care organizations and industry partners.
Their contributions help us bring together learners, educators, researchers and health leaders while supporting initiatives and programs that respond to the evolving needs of our health system.
We are grateful for their continued commitment and for the role they play in amplifying the impact of our work.
Bringing the academic medicine community together also comes with an environmental responsibility that AFMC turned into tangible action at ICAM 2026.
That commitment was reflected in ICAM earning Platinum Sustainable Event certification under the University of Ottawa’s Sustainable Events Program. Responsible resource management was evident throughout the conference, with approximately 325 pounds of surplus food redirected to local families, and remaining furniture and materials donated to community organizations.
The legacy also extended far beyond the Congress itself. Through a $15 carbon offset contribution included in every registration, ICAM delegates raised $26,220 for Forêt Capitale Forest, helping plant 2,100 trees across the National Capital Region. These efforts demonstrate how environmental stewardship can reduce waste, support local communities and create a lasting contribution to planetary health. Watch message from Forêt Capitale Forest.

AFMC’s impact is driven by its people. Through our fully remote model, we have built a truly national workforce, attracting top talent from seven provinces and 28 cities and bringing diverse perspectives to our work.
We continue to invest in our people through protected learning opportunities, with staff completing 1,890 hours of professional development since January 2026. This commitment to growth is matched by a strong culture of engagement and community. Over the past year, staff contributed 159.25 hours of volunteer service, including a team-building activity in support of the Christie Lake Kids summer camp.
This commitment to our people helps foster workplace where individuals can thrive, collaborate and contribute their best.
